...In with the new

For the past few days we have been working hard to get several of our new finds cleaned up and put into Hawthorne Vintage.  We finally got them all finished and properly staged.  Here are how our spaces are looking now.  As always prices can be seen on our "Currently For Sale" page.  Also, keep an eye out for a major announcement from us on Friday!

This Lafer style sofa set needed quite a bit of work.  We gave it a deep cleaning and replaced about 13 buttons.  Usually we don't buy furniture from the 70s but I feel that this design is especially inspired. SOLD

Lane drop leaf coffee table.  SOLD

(Right) 1950s bar cart.  The top shelf is also a serving tray.  SOLD

Clausen Mobler Credenza. I cut off the original base and added hairpin legs to give it a floating effect. SOLD

Three Projects // Before & After

Lately our projects have been stacking up.  In the last couple days we finally got to work on three of them and now they have been completed.

A few weeks ago I found this Milo Baughman recliner.  It had been mistreated during the 1980s and needed to be restored to its original glory.  A customer contacted us before we even started on it and asked that we do a custom upholstery job for her.  She provided some orange velvet fabric.  It turned out beautifully.

Although the original fabric was pretty cool we hadn't had any luck selling this set of Brasilia dining chairs.  Yesterday morning I went to Hawthorne Vintage to pick them up for reupholstery.  On my way home I found two more matching chairs.  SOLD

I started working on this Domino Mobler desk before I took any pictures of it.  The top was in pretty rough condition.  The first picture was taken while I was sanding the top.  I wasn't able to make it perfect but is is much improved from how I found it.  SOLD

A New Venture // Hairpin Legs

As someone who is always building and upcycling  furniture.  Hairpin legs are something that I am always in need of.  For the past 2 years I have bounced back and forth with 4 different suppliers.  The lead time was always too long and I never had them quite when I needed them.  This lead me to the decision to solve the problem for myself and others.  I recently purchased a wholesale lot of 100 14'' hairpin legs both for personal use and for wholesale.  They are available locally at Hawthorne Vintage and online on Etsy.

Here the legs are pictured on my most recently completed coffee table.
